I purchased an original Flea 47 years ago. It’s the only mic I use. I’ve been writing with an artist out of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Nick Celino. We released “Show Me How To Love” on Valentine’s Day. Nick has had 25k hits on his instagram reel of the video since then. The response is continuing to be amazing. Nick has a “one in a million” voice and the Flea 47 captured it incredibly…every nuance and texture.
Nick’s voice is truly a big surprise! When we sat down to write and I heard his voice for the first time, it literally stunned me. I had to get up from the piano and stick foam under the strings of all my acoustic guitars because the bass resonance of Nick’s voice vibrated them all wildly! Fortunately, I had the Flea 47 set up and ready to go and to know that it would capture exactly what I was hearing live. A timeless, classic mic for a timeless classic voice. It was definitely one of those moments where I confidently knew I had the right tool for the job at hand. We are working on more songs, Nick is in Newcastle (UK) and I’m in the Los Angeles area so he’s recording on whatever mic he can get his hands on, sadly nothing anywhere close to the Flea.
Thank you for building such an incredible microphone!!
